Welcome to the Down Syndrome Association
of North Central Iowa (DSA of NCI)

 

 

Our nonprofit organization was founded in 2013 by a group of dedicated parents who came together for one reason – to make the lives of people with Down syndrome better. 

 

By creating programs for community awareness and partnerships with area organizations that support individuals with disabilities, our organization can offer our members opportunities to create a large support network and to gain helpful information.  

 

We are excited about the opportunities we are able to bring to our members and look forward to serving each and every person who seeks our help. 

 

 

Our Mission

 

Our mission is to provide support, education and advocacy to individuals with Down syndrome and their families. We strive to empower them and to promote their unique contributions by fostering inclusive and integrated environments in their communities.

 

In accordance to our mission, the DSA of NCI will host quarterly parent meetings that address the changing needs of our members and host family events throughout the year to encourage networking and inclusion for our members. In addition, the DSA of NCI will serve as a resource for information on the related topics of Down syndrome through newsletter communications and a web presence.
